This project aimed to end period poverty on campus by providing free period products across campus to those who needed them, as well as creating trans-inclusive and body-positive messaging around menstruation across campus to undo period stigma.
As part of this project, I worked closely with the Student union team, the student body and local artists to create a series of visual pop-up stalls and workshops across campus that addressed period stigma and period poverty.
These stalls involved post boxes where people could write and share anonymous letters expressing their feelings around menstruation, as well as a uterus tree- where people could do write and share notes about their period. The stalls also included a “pin the parts on the parts” uterus board to bridge a gap in sex education when it comes to understanding menstruation.
Throughout this project, it was vital for me to ensure all imagery, colour schemes, and language used was trans-inclusive so that my campaign was inclusive of all people who menstruate particularly those within the LGBTQIA+ community.
